Relationships does not equal love
Being in a relationship doesn’t always mean love is present.
Sometimes it’s comfort. Sometimes it’s familiarity. Sometimes it’s the fear of being alone.
But trust God enough to wait for more.
A love marked by intention, covering, peace, and reciprocity.
If it’s not aligned, release it.
What’s yours will come with clarity, consistency, and God’s peace.

It's a realization many of us come to: just because you're partnered, doesn't mean love is present. For so long, I believed that if someone chose to be with me, it automatically equated to love. But I’ve learned that sometimes we stay because we enjoy the comfort of being chosen – not the depth of being cherished. This insight completely shifted my perspective on what true love really means. Moving beyond the superficial, what does it truly mean to experience love that is marked by intention, covering, peace, and reciprocity? It’s more than just a feeling; it’s a conscious decision and a consistent action. Intentional love means both partners actively choose each other every day, putting effort into understanding, supporting, and growing together. It’s not about convenience or simply filling a void, but a deliberate dedication to the relationship and each other’s well-being. This kind of love helps us differentiate between fleeting infatuation and a deep, lasting bond. Reciprocity is another cornerstone. True love isn't a one-sided street. It’s about giving and receiving, caring and being cared for, in equal measure. The OCR text really resonated with me when it spoke about desiring “to be the love of someone's life, and to love them just as fully in return.” This isn’t just about grand gestures, but the everyday acts of kindness, listening, and mutual respect that build a strong foundation. You feel seen, heard, and valued, knowing that your partner is as invested in your happiness as you are in theirs. And then there’s the profound sense of peace. When love is genuine, it brings solace, not anxiety. You don't have to constantly question your worth or the stability of the relationship. There's a quiet confidence and security that allows you to simply be yourself. This peace often comes hand-in-hand with a feeling of being 'covered' – nurtured, protected, and unconditionally accepted. It's about finding a sanctuary in another person, a space where you can truly thrive and feel safe. So, how do we cultivate and recognize this kind of love? It starts with self-awareness and a willingness to wait. If what you have isn't aligned with these deeper tenets of love, it might be time to release it. It takes courage to step away from familiarity or the fear of being alone, but trust me, what’s truly yours will come with clarity, consistency, and that undeniable God-given peace. Don't settle for being just 'chosen' when you deserve the incredible depth of being truly 'cherished'.
