I’ve watched every movie in this book series except for the very last one. And I have to say, I think I appreciate the book a little bit more than the actual movie. And I LOVED the first 3 movies lol.
Even though, I already knew what to expect from this book, I still was unable to put it down. During my study breaks, I’d find myself reaching for this book over my phone. 😅
Anyways, Let’s discuss this situation-ship between Ms. Tessa Young and Hardin Scott.. it’s a freaking roller coaster and literally one red flag after another. Tessa, I love her. I love that she’s so innocent at first but when she’s with Hardin, she just flourishes.. 😅
Hardin, the walking red flag.. 🫣 Let’s just say, I understand why the girl was going crazy for him. I think we’ve all had that ONE GUY who’s caused us to just forget alllll our home training. 🤷🏽♀️ anyways, what’s your thoughts on this book? #afterbyannatodd#booktok#lemon8bookclub#booksoflemon8

... Read moreOkay, so diving deeper into 'After' by Anna Todd after my initial read, I just had to share more about what makes this series such a phenomenon, especially when you're flipping through chapter eighty-one and beyond, seeing how the characters evolve.
The biggest draw, and arguably the biggest headache, is undoubtedly the relationship between Tessa Young and Hardin Scott. My initial thought was 'rollercoaster,' but it's more like a theme park ride that constantly breaks down, then restarts at full speed! We're talking about a classic 'bad boy meets innocent girl' trope, but taken to extremes. Hardin is the epitome of the walking red flag – moody, possessive, manipulative at times – yet, like many, I found myself inexplicably drawn to his tortured soul. It's a testament to Anna Todd's writing that even knowing all his flaws, you can't help but root for their eventual understanding, if not always their decisions.
Tessa, on the other hand, starts off so sheltered, and watching her personality flourish and adapt, even in the chaos, is fascinating. She makes choices that might frustrate you, but they're always rooted in her deep feelings for Hardin. Their dynamic is a constant push and pull, filled with intense arguments followed by equally intense reconciliations. This volatile connection is probably why so many searches focus on 'Tessa Young and Hardin Scott relationship dynamics' – it's endlessly complex and leaves you questioning what 'love' truly means in such an extreme context.
Comparing the 'After movie novel' experience to the films, I genuinely feel the book delves so much deeper into their internal monologues and motivations. The movies capture the drama, but the book truly lets you live inside Tessa's head as she grapples with Hardin's secrets and his past. You understand the nuances of why she stays, why she fights, and why she's willing to forgive. The book's pacing allows for a more gradual build-up of their connection and the subsequent unraveling of their emotional ties, which I think is crucial for understanding the full scope of their story.
Regarding queries like 'is Hardin rich in after,' it's less about his financial status directly impacting their dynamic and more about his background and emotional wealth (or lack thereof). His wealth comes more from his family's status and connections, which sometimes adds to his rebellious nature rather than solving his emotional problems. The story isn't about money; it's about emotional baggage and healing.
The themes in 'After' are pretty mature, dealing with intense intimacy, emotional abuse, and personal growth, which definitely explains the interest in the 'After series age rating.' It's not just a simple romance; it explores the darker side of passion and obsession. If you're looking for 'After quotes Hardin and Tessa,' you'll find countless lines that perfectly encapsulate their intense, often heartbreaking, exchanges. They stick with you long after you've closed the *book's cover*.
Not about the book. Ive watch all the movies but I just started the books. Anyways what filter did u use for this ?
