Kemonomimi?? wuts that?

hello!! i’m sure lots of you have seen me posting around on here some sillie pics of myself :) yours truly, and usually using the hashtags #kemonomimi or #doggirl but what does that MEAN??

kemonomimi, in its base term, is a fashion ‘subculture’ specifically focusing on implementing animal-like characteristics into style and fashion!!

this can be thru many ways! i personally enjoy wearing headband ears and chain necklaces or collars! i also have belt tails to match some ears and fangs that i’ll wear too!

it’s not only accessories tho - but some kemonomimi’s will center their clothing around whatever animal they base their style around, and also cook up makeup looks! :)

this style can bleed into aesthetic too - i personally love anything dog themed!! keychains, pillows, hair clips — etc etc, i just think it’s cute! same for anything deer themed!

at the end of the day, it’s really just a fashion label/style of clothing or accessorizing :3c

wuff!! have a nice one 🐾

... Read moreHey there, fellow style adventurers! Since we just talked about what #kemonomimi *is*, let's dive a little deeper into how you can explore this vibrant world, especially if you're curious about bringing some animal magic into your own wardrobe. One question I hear a lot is: 'What's the difference between #kemonomimi and furry culture?' It's a great question, and there's a key distinction! While both involve animal characteristics, furries often create a 'fursona' – a specific animal character they embody, sometimes through full mascot suits. Kemonomimi, on the other hand, is generally about incorporating animal-like features into human fashion and appearance, often focusing on ears, tails, paws, or fangs, as extensions of a human form. Think of it as a stylish nod to your favorite creatures, rather than becoming one. It's about blending animal aesthetics with your personal style in a more subtle, yet playful, way. So, how do you build your own #kemonomimifashion? It's all about creativity! If you’re like me and love the #doggirl aesthetic, you might start with a cute pair of dog animal ears – maybe floppy ones, or pointy ones that stand up straight! Pair them with a choker or a chain necklace that gives off a collar vibe. For outfits, you don't need a full costume. Try incorporating colors or patterns that remind you of your chosen animal. For a dog-inspired look, this could be plaid, denim, or earthy tones. You could even wear a t-shirt with a cute paw print or a bone graphic if you want to be more direct! But it's not just about dogs! The #kemonomimistyle embraces all sorts of animals. Think elegant cat ears with a sleek, dark outfit for a feline vibe, or delicate deer antlers and a floral dress for a whimsical touch. Bunny ears, like those seen with playful bunny graphics, are super popular too, often paired with pastel colors and soft textures. Fox ears and tails can bring a mischievous, agile feel to an #kemonomimi outfit. For those looking to explore #kemonomimicosplay, that's where you can really go all out! This might involve more elaborate makeup to create whiskers, noses, or even eye effects. Different types of animal ears, such as those that clip into your hair or are part of a headband, can completely transform a look. Don't forget about tails! Belt tails are fantastic for adding that extra touch of animal charm to any outfit. The #kemonomimiaesthetic is all about expressing your inner animal spirit in a fun, fashionable way. It's about finding accessories, clothing, and makeup that make you feel connected to that animal's energy. Remember, there are no strict rules – it's all about what makes you feel cute, confident, and a little bit wild! Have fun experimenting!
