How to Adjust Your Thwarted Soul Care Plan
LIVE LIFE AFTER TRAUMA SERIES: How to Make Adjustments for Your Thwarted Soul Care Plan - Ooppps!!! My Plans Had to Change
Your day not going according to plan???
No sweat. Here are a few adjustments you can make to recover your soul care needs:
*Have some flexibility to your day. If morning doesn’t work out, try in the afternoon, evening, or night. This will give you ample time to get that soul care in.
*Think ahead of some things you’d enjoy for the day - outdoors and indoors.
*Select one and keep another as your back-up plan. Just in case the weather changes, you’re feeling a little tired, or something else comes up.
*Be prepared and okay if you need to cut your outdoor time short. Rest and care for your soul can occur in so many different fashions.
*Think of something you thoroughly enjoy doing outdoors that has a suitable alternative indoors. For example, if you are like me, and just love looking out at the ocean or some other body of water, relocate to a quiet indoor space - like your living room or bedroom - and utilize a slideshow of ocean views from your television instead.
***Still looking for something else to do that’ll help enhance your soul care???
Create an (always-wanted-to-do) bucket list of anything and everything you can think of that you’d hope would one day greatly Bless your soul. If there are any bigger-ticketed items on your list, you can plan to engage in at least one per year or every 2-3 years.
Many Blessings to You!!!

Life can be unpredictable, especially when you’re recovering from trauma or navigating chaos in your daily routine. Sometimes your well-intended soul care plan gets thwarted by unforeseen events or shifts in your energy levels. It’s important to remember that soul care isn’t about rigidly following a schedule but rather about honoring your emotional, mental, and spiritual needs wherever you are. One effective way to maintain soul care amid disruptions is by building flexibility into your day. If your morning self-care session doesn’t happen, don’t stress—consider shifting your practices to the afternoon or evening. Flexibility allows you to prioritize your wellbeing without feeling chained to a specific time. Prepare multiple soul care options that work both outdoors and indoors. Planning ahead by selecting an activity you enjoy, like a walk in nature or meditative journaling, plus keeping a suitable indoor alternative ready, ensures you won’t lose out on nurturing your spirit due to weather or fatigue. For instance, if you love gazing at the ocean but can’t get outside, consider using peaceful oceanscape videos indoors to evoke a sense of calm and connection. Sometimes, cutting outdoor time short or simplifying your plans is not a failure but a form of self-compassion. Soul care can be as simple as silent breathing, listening to calming music, or sitting quietly in your favorite nook. To enrich your soul care journey, consider creating a bucket list of meaningful activities—big or small—that you’ve always wanted to try. This helps you stay inspired and gives you goals to look forward to, whether it’s attending a soul-nourishing retreat once every few years or exploring new creative hobbies that bring your heart joy. Remember, soul care is deeply personal and fluid. It is about tuning in to what blesses your spirit and allows healing to unfold naturally. Embrace adjustments without judgment and be gentle with yourself as you navigate life’s interruptions. Your soul will thank you for the love and patience you offer yourself during these moments.
