Another thing that helps me is actively seeking inspiration without falling into the comparison trap. I might browse art books, watch a documentary, or go for a walk and observe details in nature. Sometimes, a specific theme can kickstart ideas – like trying to create 'easy simple Greek drawings' if I'm feeling stuck for subject matter, or reimagining a classic myth. It’s about feeding your creative well with new input. Don't be afraid to try something completely different from your usual style. If you usually draw detailed ornate outfits, try a minimalist landscape. For those moments when my mind feels utterly blank, having a list of 'what to draw when you have art block' really saves me. I keep a running list of prompts: drawing hands in different poses, exaggerated facial expressions, simple still life setups, or even just focusing on textures like wood grain or fabric folds. Sometimes I challenge myself to draw the same object from 10 different angles.
