The BL manga series that has me on the fence

Story wasn't bad but nothing spectacular. I did like the reincarnation trope. The mystery was very predictable. It only took about two clues to sniff out the ending way ahead of time.

Characters- Meh. More care was put into the flashback characters than the present day characters. They are just really not that endearing.

The spice was... 😬🚩 All the way until the end of Lost Paradise. Yeesh. it really tried to redeem itself right at the end so maybe if the series keeps going I'll keep up with it, but that's a hard maybe. #blmangarecommendation #bl #sanctify #manga

... Read moreHey fellow BL manga lovers! I recently shared my initial thoughts on the Sanctify BL manga series, and I know many of you are curious about it, especially volumes like *Sanctify Lost Paradise*. Since it's a series that gets a lot of buzz, I wanted to dive a bit deeper and give you a more comprehensive look at what to expect if you're thinking of picking it up. First off, for those new to it, Sanctify is a prominent BL manga series crafted by Zhixin Peng and Fox^^. It's often categorized as a dark fantasy romance with significant mystery elements, heavily playing on themes like reincarnation and destiny. The series is known for its intricate plotlines and, as I mentioned before, some pretty intense 'spice' that might not be for everyone! The beautiful illustrations on the covers, like those prominently featured on Sanctify 1 and Sanctify Lost Paradise volumes, are definitely a visual treat and draw many readers in. When I first started reading *Sanctify BL manga*, I was immediately drawn in by the compelling premise. A good reincarnation trope can really hook me, and this one certainly had potential to be captivating. If you're into stories with characters who have a deep, past-life connection and are trying to unravel ancient secrets or curses, this could be right up your alley. The mystery itself, while I personally found it a bit predictable in places, still offers enough intrigue to keep the pages turning, especially if you enjoy piecing together fragmented clues and theories. One thing to prepare for is the nature of the character development. While I felt the flashback characters sometimes outshone the present-day ones, the overall narrative arc is incredibly ambitious. Be ready for a journey that explores complex relationships, moral ambiguities, and ethical dilemmas rather than straightforward heroics. The series isn't just about the romance; it deeply delves into power dynamics, societal structures, and the profound consequences of past actions. It’s definitely a story that makes you think! If you're wondering where to start, Sanctify 1 is, of course, the definitive beginning. However, many discussions within the BL community often revolve around Sanctify Lost Paradise as a pivotal arc, often marking where the series takes a significant, darker turn. It’s a series that absolutely benefits from being read in chronological order to fully appreciate the unfolding mystery and the evolving, sometimes tumultuous, character arcs. So, is Sanctify BL manga the right read for you? If you enjoy dark, detailed BL stories with a strong focus on reincarnation, a layered mystery, and aren't shy about mature themes and explicit content, then absolutely give it a try. Just go in with an open mind, perhaps temper your expectations on the overall predictability of the mystery, and be ready for that specific level of 'spice' – it's part of the experience! It's a series that sparks a lot of discussion and has a dedicated fanbase for a reason, and I'd love to hear your thoughts once you've delved into its world too!
