Now it would seem due to the controversy surrounding last year's WrestleMania roast the idea would have gone out the window. Thanks to the embarrassing musings if one Nia Jax and Paul Heyman. The roast material was so bad and insulting. Just ask the likes of Charlotte, Maryse, Jinder Mahal, Paige etc. Who were all taken back and felt mostly insulted.

All audio and video recordings from the roast were taken down as soon as they were uploaded.

It was even rumored the company was considering taking legal action against any uploaders. With such a negative and polarizing outcome one would think the company would not go through having a roast again. With that said it's surprising to know that this will be aired on Netflix this year.

I don't know about you guys but I'm curious to see the fallout after the wrestlers get roasted.

... Read moreHaving followed the WrestleMania roasts closely, I can say they have become a unique blend of wrestling entertainment and comedy, though not without controversy. Last year’s roast sparked intense reactions due to some harsh jokes made by figures like Nia Jax and Paul Heyman, which many wrestlers found offensive. This led to complete removal of all videos and rumors about potential legal measures against uploads, indicating how seriously WWE took the backlash. What makes Tony Hinchcliffe’s involvement noteworthy is his reputation as a sharp and edgy comedian who can navigate the fine line between roast humor and respect. While many fans, including myself, were skeptical about the roast continuing after the prior year’s incidents, announcing its airing on Netflix adds a whole new level of accessibility and exposure. This decision suggests that WWE believes the roast can still generate buzz and expand the WrestleMania viewing experience beyond the ring. From a fan’s perspective, roasts offer a rare chance to see wrestlers and personalities humorously poked fun at, breaking the usual serious wrestling storyline mold. The key will be balancing humor with sensitivity, ensuring jokes don’t cross into insulting territory that dampens the community’s spirit. Tony Hinchcliffe’s sharp wit could bring fresh energy, provided the content stays within acceptable bounds. For viewers curious about the reaction following the roasts, paying attention to social media commentary will be crucial. Fan and wrestler responses often reveal how well the roast landed. Personally, I look forward to seeing if the event can evolve into a celebrated WrestleMania tradition or if it will continue to provoke debate about comedy and respect in wrestling culture. In summary, the upcoming WrestleMania Roast hosted by Tony Hinchcliffe offers both promise and provocation. It blends fierce comedy with wrestling spectacle, and its Netflix release makes it a must-watch for fans eager to see what unfolds during these fiery roasts.
