You can learn a lot about someone by who they choose to stay away from. The people I avoid say more about my values than the ones I keep close. I don’t want to be surrounded by those who bring constant negativity, stir up drama, or only show up when they need something. Life feels lighter when you’re not stuck carrying the weight of people who don’t bring peace.
I prefer being around those who are honest, respectful, and bring out the good in others. So I naturally distance myself from the ones who lie, take advantage of kindness, or think putting others down makes them stronger. It’s not about thinking I’m better than anyone. It’s about protecting the energy I want to keep around me.
Some people confuse kindness with weakness and mistake quiet for being unsure. That’s fine. I just choose not to give my time to people who don’t understand the kind of life I’m trying to build. So if you want to understand me, look at who I avoid. That will tell you more than anything I could say.
