When we feel the weakest, God’s strength shines the brightest. 💡 His grace isn’t lacking—it’s enough. Every weakness is an invitation for His power to rest on us. 🙏
... Read moreI stumbled upon this truth – 'God is bigger' – during a really challenging time, and it completely shifted my perspective. There were days I felt so overwhelmed, like I just couldn't carry the load anymore. That's when the words from 2 Corinthians 12:9 truly resonated with me: 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' It felt like God was directly speaking to me, saying exactly what the image captures: 'You don't have to be strong enough — I am.'
This isn't just a comforting quote; it's a profound truth that changed how I approach my struggles. Before, I'd try to tough it out, burning myself out in the process. Now, I understand that my weakness isn't a barrier to God's work, but an invitation for His power to shine through. It's like realizing that when I have very 'little,' but God is 'in it,' that little can accomplish so much more than my grandest efforts alone. This concept of 'little is much when God is in it' has given me so much peace. It means I don't need to have all the answers or all the resources; I just need to be willing to bring my 'little' to Him, and He will multiply it.
So, when I hear phrases like 'be strong, God is with you,' it no longer feels like a command to muster up my own failing strength. Instead, it's an encouraging reminder to lean into His strength. How do I do that practically? For me, it often starts with prayer – just honestly telling God how I feel, how weak I am, and asking Him to step in. Sometimes, it's simply spending time reading scripture, letting His words wash over me and remind me of His promises. Finding a community of faith has also been incredible; sharing my struggles and receiving encouragement from others who believe has helped me feel less alone.
I remember one instance when I was facing a huge decision, feeling completely inadequate and unsure. I kept trying to figure it out on my own, getting more and more stressed. Then, I remembered this verse. I stopped, prayed, and just said, 'God, I don't have the strength or wisdom for this. I need You.' And almost immediately, a sense of calm washed over me, and a clear path forward began to emerge. It wasn't a sudden miracle, but a gentle guiding, a feeling of being carried. That's when I truly understood what 'God is bigger' means – He's bigger than my problems, bigger than my weaknesses, and always ready to step in when I allow Him to.
It's a continuous journey, learning to surrender my own efforts and trust in His boundless grace. But knowing that His strength is always perfect in my weakness gives me hope every single day. So, if you're feeling weak today, remember: you don't have to be strong enough. He is.
