a duology that’s perfect to read this fall

I read only one or two fantasy books a year, and this is a spellbinding duology that I will always recommend. Set in a fictional island inspired by Scotland, this is a cozy story following a whole cast of characters trying to solve the mystery of all these missing girls. The fantasy themes are very inspired by art and music, nature and the elements, and all of the characters are so well developed and kind, all driven by their own desires and conflicts. Even writing about it, I think I’m ready for a reread.

one of the best YA fantasies I’ve read 👏🏼
I can’t even begin to tell you how much of a chokehold this story had on me when I was reading it. Not only was it paced well, but the political intrigue was very understandable, the fight scenes were written amazingly, and the love interests (YES there’s more than one!) are really great characters
