Harness Your Power
Let's talk about boundaries, consequences and the ones who only hold you in their fantasy.
I am an empath so setting boundaries, communicating those boundaries and holding consequences has been long overdue. From cutting off harmful family members to shutting down male fantasies, the need has been there for decades.
Going no contact is one of my harshest, but necessary tool and only used with repeat offenders after the boundaries have been communicated. I have also used it when racism, bigotry and misogyny rear their faces. Being a Black Adoptee and being married into a white family I have seen, heard and experienced all of these from people who claimed to be my family without remorse. Listen My Glorious Adoptees you are allowed in adulthood to protect yourself from people who didn't care enough to protect you. You are also allowed to not respond to the repeat abandonment. The ones who repeatedly treat me poorly then try and come back, are also lost in the shuffle of no contact today. I will no longer protect those who actively harm me.
I am also now communicating my boundaries and not taking the victim mode from those who hurt me. Yes, for the ones who have gotten away with it for so long have been in shock the past month. They are so used to me folding under their manipulation and victim mentality, that me saying firmly what my boundaries in friendships, sisterhood, romance and co-workers. I have also had to tell people what I will not tolerate, a one way relationship, or lack of interest in who I am. Your fantasy of me is now up in flames. I will no longer educate anyone on how to treat a woman of color. If you don't know by now, you were not interested to begin with.
Standing in the guidance of my Spirit and healing the wounds of my ancestors I now stand strong in my boundaries. I now call only respect and I deserve to be heard. I am worthy of loyalty and I am not here to entertain others. My boundaries are mine and I encourage all my empaths to do the same.
We are now moving to people that have been "friends" for a while but you realized you know more about them than they do you, and they never ask. I have had to point out that the conversation is surface and one sided because those things usually go hand in hand. A friend will respond and change the behavior. Someone who is not looking out for you will try to defend their behavior, make you feel like you are in the wrong and then ignore. At this point exercising consequences and holding to your truth is necessary. The anxiety will subside, remember your breath work, pick up your journal and pen. Guided meditation 🧘🏾♀️ is always my go to.
Stand in all of your glory. 💃🏾🫂✍️🏾🧘🏾♀️
