Moral of the story: you don’t have to oil your hair every day to see hair growth. I personally don’t use oil daily just a good deep conditioner every wash day and a heat protectant whenever I use heat.
What led me to do a big chop was wearing my hair curly all the time. As a natural, my hair sheds more when I wear it curly often, and constant ponytails didn’t help either. I also went to cosmetology school, so I don’t mind cutting my hair short because I know it’ll grow back healthier and more even than before.
I wear my hair straight a lot and make sure to wrap it every night to help it stay straight longer. I have zero heat damage because I always protect my hair properly.
The real lesson? Get those trims every 3–6 months! I can’t stand stringy ends, so I have no problem cutting them off. Split ends don’t fix themselves they just continue splitting higher and higher up the hair shaft, which can eventually leave you with thin spots and breakage.

I wanna follow you but it won’t let me because it says “you’ve followed too many accounts in a short amount of time.” So I will later.
