Acne/Scar marks - HELP!
First time poster, long time creeper 😂☠️
I’m too embarrassed to post on my other social media account. I need help with my acne. I’ve been struggling with it off and on for years now. This is the result of hormones. I stopped BC in November and we’re trying for baby #2 ! Dealing with the acne and the acne scars is tanking my self esteem. I’m 33 years old and still dealing with acne. Give me your best advice!
Acne is a common skin condition that affects many people, especially during hormonal changes, such as stopping birth control when trying for a baby. It's essential to understand that you are not alone in this struggle. Various treatment options, including topical treatments, prescription medications, and natural remedies, can help manage acne and improve skin texture. Topical retinoids, salicylic acid, and benzoyl peroxide are some of the most popular over-the-counter products that can effectively reduce acne and prevent future breakouts. These ingredients work by unclogging pores and promoting skin cell turnover, which is especially beneficial for those dealing with post-acne scars. For stubborn cases, dermatologists often suggest prescription treatments such as oral antibiotics or isotretinoin. Additionally, incorporating a gentle skincare routine can significantly impact your skin's health. Regular cleansing, moisturizing, and sun protection are crucial steps in managing acne and reducing scars. It is also essential to avoid picking at the skin, as this can lead to further irritation and scarring. Beyond these treatments, many find that lifestyle choices, such as a balanced diet rich in vitamins A, C, and E, staying hydrated, and managing stress levels, can greatly influence their skin's appearance. Remember, having acne and scars does not define your self-worth, and reaching out for help is a courageous step towards achieving healthier skin.
