i figured i’d break up my posts about packing/moving (assuming tomorrow i will be able to show y’all the fully-packed stuff i’ll be bringing with me) and make a little post dedicated to my band room!
*not pictured: my Fender Jazz Bass and my Billie Eilish Fender Ukulele.
this band room has been a safe-haven for me, and i have learned and processed so much with these instruments. fun-girl-boss-fact: i taught myself to play all of these on my own! except for drums, that was my first instrument and i had the best teacher: my mom. she played in a band for 15+ years on the kit so who to learn better from (she’s kinda badass ik)? from then on, i fell in love with being a musician and wanted to get my hands on whatever they could figure out enough to make a good sound.
my favorite instrument to play is drums since it was my first and there’s so much variation and fun you can have with them, exerting a lot of energy or barely any at all, hitting the cymbals in different places to match a tone of a different song, etc. i see the way i drum as so fluid and connected, yet i also go ham on that thang 😎😮💨 my second favorite’s gotta be ukulele, it’s such a fun little instrument to play around with and as a shorter girl with smaller hands, it makes me feel happy when i’m at least able to fingerpick a uke (getting there on guitar though?… work in progress). i really do love all these though and i love bouncing between them and being my own one-woman band.
