recipe below ⬇️
🍞ingredients:
~ 5 oz of evaporated milk
~ 1 cup (8 oz) heavy cream
~ 2 egg yolks
~ 2 tablespoons of vanilla bean paste
~ 2.5 tablespoons of cinnamon sugar (can just do 2 if that's too much for your preference)
~ 1 loaf of brioche bread
~ butter (for the pan)
🍞 directions:
~ turn your pan on low heat
~ once warmed up, add half a tablespoon of butter
~ take 1 piece of bread, dip each side in your french toast batter (the bread will soak up the batter, so don't leave bread in for too long)

~ cook each side until golden and cooked fully through (about 3-5 minutes each side)
~ remove from pan and add any toppings of your choice!
🍓simple cream cheese topping recipe:

If you're like me and love elevating a classic breakfast, this vanilla bean custard French toast made with brioche really hits the mark. Brioche’s rich, buttery texture soaks up the custard just right, giving each bite a melt-in-your-mouth quality. One trick I've learned is to keep the pan on low heat while cooking; this prevents burning and ensures the custard cooks evenly through the bread. Adding cinnamon sugar to the custard mix adds a subtle warmth, but you can adjust it to your taste if you prefer less sweetness. The cream cheese topping is a game-changer too—blending softened cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla extract creates a luscious, slightly tangy layer that complements the sweet strawberries wonderfully. I also recommend using evaporated milk and heavy cream as they add creaminess and depth, making the custard richer than using regular milk alone. For extra flavor, a touch of real vanilla bean paste (rather than extract) really intensifies the vanilla notes. For variations, you might try adding some fresh berries or even a drizzle of maple syrup on top. This recipe is perfect for weekend brunches or whenever you want to treat yourself to a comforting and elegant breakfast. Give yourself time to prepare and cook each piece carefully—good things come to those who wait! Overall, this recipe balances sweet and creamy flavors with the tender, soft brioche, making it my favorite way to start a sunny morning.
