Time flies!! Thank you @Ruben | RDH for capturing this moment #dental #dentalhygienist #nbdhe
Passing the National Board Dental Hygiene Examination (NBDHE) is a significant achievement that marks the beginning of a fulfilling career in dental hygiene. Reflecting on my journey since earning my license, I can confidently say that the role of a dental hygienist extends far beyond routine cleaning. It involves educating patients about oral health, preventive care, and fostering long-term relationships that positively impact their wellbeing. One year into my career, I’ve learned that staying current with the latest dental technologies and hygiene practices is key to providing excellent care. Continuously attending workshops and courses has helped me enhance my skills and boost my confidence. Recovering from the challenges of study and board exams, I found that resilience and support from colleagues and mentors played a critical role in my success. For anyone preparing to take the NBDHE, my advice is to focus on understanding core concepts deeply rather than just memorizing facts. Practical experience gained through clinical practice is invaluable, and it helps in applying theoretical knowledge effectively. Also, don’t underestimate the power of positive mindset and consistent study habits. Being a dental hygienist means making a genuine difference in patients’ lives every day. From spotting early signs of oral diseases to comforting anxious patients, each day brings unique opportunities to enhance health and smiles. This journey has been incredibly rewarding, and passing the board exam was just the first step towards a lifelong commitment to dental health.
