Me myself and I

✨ The Three Selves ✨

We all carry three versions of ourselves inside.

The one we built to survive.

The one the world projects onto us.

And the one we really are beneath the wounds.

🖤 The Mask Self is the armor — the “I’m fine,” the strong one, the survivor.

It isn’t fake… it’s protection.

🔮 The Reflected Self is the mirror — how people see you through their own pain, projections, and stories.

That’s their lens, not your truth.

🔥 The True Self is your soul — the you that existed before trauma.

Soft. Wild. Intuitive. Powerful.

And when you do shadow work, you don’t become darker…

you become more you.

This is what healing really is — not fixing yourself, but remembering who you were before the world tried to edit you.

... Read moreIn my own journey with self-discovery, embracing the idea of the Three Selves has been a transformative experience. Recognizing that the Mask Self is not a false identity but a protective layer helped me accept the parts of myself that were built to survive difficult moments. This realization made me more compassionate towards myself when I noticed I was putting up walls to handle stress or emotional pain. One of the most eye-opening aspects was understanding the Reflected Self—the way others' perceptions can distort or reflect their own struggles rather than reveal who I truly am. It’s easy to get caught up in how others view us, especially when their judgments feel personal. But once I learned to see those perceptions as a mirror reflecting their own experiences, I began letting go of unnecessary self-criticism and started trusting my inner truth more. The most healing part has been connecting with the True Self—the unfiltered, raw essence that existed before life’s wounds. This part feels soft yet powerful, intuitive yet wild. Through consistent shadow work, I’ve peeled back the layers of pain and societal expectations, uncovering a deeper sense of authenticity that guides me daily. Shadow work doesn’t make you darker; it helps you reclaim parts of yourself that were hidden or suppressed. I encourage anyone on a healing path to explore these three selves. You don’t have to fix or change yourself; instead, remember who you were before external influences tried to edit your story. This approach fosters true spiritual healing and allows your soul’s truth to shine through. Using practices like journaling, meditation, and therapy to work through shadows can enrich this process, making it feel more personal and meaningful. Ultimately, acknowledging each self brings balance: honoring the Mask Self’s protection, gentle awareness of the Reflected Self’s influence, and deep embrace of the True Self’s power. This balance cultivates resilience and a newfound freedom to live authentically.
