Getting back to my dancing 😩🥰💃
It's been such an incredible journey getting back into my dance routine after taking a much-needed break! I honestly forgot how much joy and confidence dancing brings into my life. For any female dancers out there thinking about revisiting their passion, just do it! The first few sessions were definitely a mix of excitement and a bit of soreness, but every step felt like coming home. I’ve realized that dance isn't just a hobby; it's a vital part of my identity and well-being. The community aspect, even if it's just practicing in my living room and sharing clips online, has been incredibly uplifting. There’s something truly empowering about seeing other female dancers pursue their craft with such dedication and artistry, inspiring us all to push our boundaries. One of the biggest motivations for me has been exploring new moves and styles. I've always admired the versatility in dance, and lately, I’ve been trying to perfect the frog pose twerk. Let me tell you, it's more challenging than it looks, but incredibly rewarding once you start getting the hang of it! If you're curious about this dynamic move, it essentially involves getting into a deep squat, almost like a frog, with your knees wide, and then engaging your glutes and core to create that distinct rhythmic movement. It’s a fantastic way to build strength in your lower body, particularly your glutes and inner thighs, and it really teaches you body control and isolation. My biggest tip for beginners is to start slow, focus intently on your core engagement throughout the movement, and make sure your knees are protected by not letting them go past your toes. Practicing in front of a mirror can be super helpful to check your form and ensure you’re moving safely and effectively. Remember to warm up properly with dynamic stretches like leg swings and hip circles to prepare your muscles and joints for the intensity. Cooling down with static stretches afterwards is just as important to prevent soreness and improve flexibility. I found a lot of helpful tutorials on YouTube and Instagram, and watching other female dancers master it truly motivated me to keep pushing through the awkward stages. Beyond just the physical aspect, getting back to dance has been amazing for my mental well-being. It's a powerful form of self-expression and a fantastic way to release stress. There are days when I feel overwhelmed or creatively blocked, but stepping onto the 'dance floor' (my living room, a studio, or even just a park!) instantly shifts my mood. It's a space where I can be completely myself, unfiltered and free, allowing my emotions to flow through movement. I've been drawing so much inspiration from incredible artists online, like Savorgabrielle, whose fluidity, strength, and unique style are just breathtaking. Her ability to blend different dance forms seamlessly and express such raw emotion in her performances is something I truly aspire to. Watching her and other talented female dancers push boundaries encourages me to keep going, to experiment with my own style, and to embrace every stage of my own journey, even the clumsy parts! This comeback isn’t just about fitness or learning new steps; it’s about rediscovering a vital part of myself that truly thrives on rhythm and movement. It's about celebrating the strength, resilience, and artistry of female dancers everywhere. Feeling the music, letting my body respond instinctively, and seeing my progress, however small, is incredibly fulfilling. I’m excited to see where this renewed passion takes me next and what other amazing moves I can add to my repertoire!
