This review might not make sense! I was just writing what was on my mind like notes and did not feel the need to edit my thoughts!!
I’m not gonna lie, it was hard to get into the book the first 40 pages.
For some reason, Louise and Mari don’t sit right with me. I’m not sure how to pin point it but they’re giving me vibe like they had something to do with the “self incident” that happened in the area of the cabins. Like I know they don’t have anything to do with the crime scene as Saint admits it, but there’s something not sitting right with me about Mari and Louise. Welp I was right in a way! Louise was fine he had nothing to do with anything! But Mari grabbed hushed money from Saint to play a fake role!? And never once in all the interactions tha she had with Petra said anything to her! I’m sorry but I would never forgive anyone that did like Mari did!
So she is in a “love triangle”? Hmm that’s a little confusing…I also remember the lines “whether I am married or not or have children’s or not…” made me think she actually does have a family but not admitting it. For what purpose? So she can actually feel what a “love triangle” would feel like for her book. Not sure if I like that…Welp she is married with kids!!! She doesn’t seem like she’s happy the family is there! I do understand the part where for business traveling away from family to get work done is okay and sometimes getting work done is faster alone than being around certain surroundings can be distracting. Also if you’re not really happy with your marriage, maybe you should be talking to your partner about it instead of straight up cheating!!
So let me get this straight….So saint did the whole planning to turn off her electricity, break into Petra’s home, hide almost all appliances, then drag her off of her bed and tied her as hard as he can to a chair just for Petra to have more feelings for her story and make a connection to her character Reya??? I’m sorry but that is twisted and disturbing in so many levels!!!!
I’m getting the feeling that he actually not married. I think he wears the ring so that way he’s playing the character Cam for Petras story. Honestly I think it’s a little weird. Welp he’s not married….shocker…..
So saint isn’t who he really is! So he’s not a detective and he never really knew Petra from what he told people before they started their situation! So he made up a whole life just because Petra said in her live chat that she wants to experience scenarios to write better? So he thought to himself that that was okay to literally flip Petra’s whole life upside down!? Yes Petra has made some mistakes too like betraying her marriage, but saint went way too far. And I’m sorry but both of their situation and their “fake lives” or “lying life” I’m sorry but they’re not the same thing. Petra has every right to not tell the world that’s she’s married with a family to protect them. She never made a whole different life and pretended to be someone else!! I’m sorry but saint is a total psycho and gives me one of those obsessive fans that gives me the cringe so much it’s disturbing!!
Also……Nora knew Eric/Saint!?!?!?!?!? And she sent him to “help Petra get out of her writers block”?!?!?!? Like I know that Nora wouldn’t have known how far the relationship with Saint and Petra went but not even telling Petra and keeping that a secret is kinda messed up in my opinion.
I’m not a fan of books where it takes 70% into reading the book to get the story more interesting. Like it was very subtle (and boring im sorry) to get to anything interesting. Usually Colleen books are a fast read but this one kept dragging. So not a huge fan of this book I’m sorry! My first dislike Colleen book!
