Easy DIY Dark Green Mod Podge Candles š
I made these dark green candles using flat jars, Mod Podge, decorative paper, and gold/copper paint accents.
To finish them off, I added melted green crayon wax to the top for a unique look. They work perfectly for St. Patrickās Day decor but could honestly be used anytime because the dark green color is so classic.
Such a simple craft idea if you love making your own seasonal decorations!
Crafting your own candles can be incredibly rewarding and adds a personal touch to your home ambiance. When making dark green Mod Podge candles, choosing flat jars makes the decorating process easier and gives you a smooth canvas to work on. I found that using decorative paper with subtle textures or patterns enhances the visual appeal, especially when sealed well with multiple layers of Mod Podge. Adding gold or copper paint accents is a wonderful way to bring warmth and sophistication to the design. I recommend applying these metallic details sparingly around the jar rims or as delicate lines to avoid overwhelming the dark green base. When it comes to the melted wax on top, using green crayon wax instead of plain candle wax creates an artistic, slightly translucent effect that feels both seasonal and timeless. This technique works beautifully not only for St. Patrickās Day but also as elegant winter or forest-inspired decoration throughout the year. You can experiment with different shades of green or even mix in hints of blue to vary the look. Plus, this project is budget-friendly and perfect for crafters of all skill levels. Whether gifting your handmade candles or using them to uplift your space, they are sure to impress and create a cozy atmosphere.
