3 IMPORTANT things I wish I’d done DIFFERENTLY🤰🏻

1. KEEP MY PLACENTA

Keep my placenta to have it encapsulated for postpartum recovery. The benefits are amazing & many moms report they had a more positive postpartum experience from taking their encapsulated placenta.

2. NOT GET AN EPIDURAL

After my first, I didn’t notice any side effects from the epidural during postpartum. But after my second I can notice some effects like sharp back pain along the spine & stiffness.

3. NOT USE FORMULA

As a new mom, that had a c-section I was recommended and encouraged by medical staff to give my newborn formula because my milk production was low (which is normal for the first days).

It actually cost me to struggle to build my milk supply because my baby was not nursing enough.

... Read morePregnancy and childbirth can be overwhelming experiences filled with decisions and advice. Many moms often reflect on their births and the choices they made, wishing they could change certain aspects to enhance their postpartum experience. One major topic is the decision to keep the placenta, which many believe aids in recovery. Researchers have noted potential benefits, including hormonal balance and increased energy. Epidurals are a common pain relief method during labor, but some women report adverse effects, such as lingering back pain and stiffness, which can affect postpartum recovery. Understanding the range of pain relief options and their potential impacts is essential for expectant mothers as they prepare for labor. Lastly, there’s a growing conversation about the use of formula feeding versus breastfeeding. New mothers, especially those who have experienced complications like C-sections, often find themselves confronting the challenge of breastfeeding difficulties. Society's pressures can lead to early introduction of formula, which some experts warn may hinder milk supply establishment. Prioritizing education on lactation support and understanding individual body responses can empower mothers to make informed feeding choices. Every woman's birth experience is unique, and reflecting on what could be done differently can help others in their journeys. Share your experiences and tips with fellow moms to create a supportive community.
