Leg day isn’t complicated, I just have a system 😂
Start with the movement I actually want to get strong at → load up the compounds → isolate what I’m trying to grow → finish with the stuff that makes walking out of the gym questionable.
Nothing random. Nothing just to make the workout longer. Every exercise has a reason.
That’s how I structure leg day 👇🏼
1. Belt Squat — 4×6–8
2. Smith Reverse Lunge — 3×8–10/leg
3. Leg Press — 3×8–10
4. Leg Extension — 3×8–10
5. Glute Drive Machine — 3×6–8
CALVES
6. Standing Calf Raise — 3×8–10
From my experience, having a clear system for leg day truly transforms how productive the workout feels and the results you get. Starting with compound exercises like the belt squat is key because they activate multiple muscle groups, helping build overall strength efficiently. Following it up with exercises like the Smith reverse lunge not only targets your quads and glutes but also helps improve balance and coordination, which is often overlooked in leg training routines. The leg press then allows you to push heavier weights safely, giving you that extra hypertrophy stimulus. Isolation movements such as leg extensions are great for honing in on the quads, especially if you want to shape specific muscle areas. Finishing with the glute drive machine is an excellent way to activate and strengthen the glutes, which are crucial for support and power in many athletic movements. Don't underestimate finishing off with standing calf raises. Calves are tricky and often neglected but play a big role in overall leg appearance and stability. I’ve found that pacing through these exercises with proper rest and focusing on form rather than just weight can prevent injury and ensure consistent muscle growth. This workout leaves your legs feeling thoroughly worked but builds functional strength that helps beyond the gym—whether it’s walking, running, or climbing stairs.
