Deltarune OC secret boss I’ve had for awhile

Creating a Deltarune Original Character (OC), especially a secret boss, is such a fun and rewarding journey! I've been working on my own character, 'Article,' for a while now, and I wanted to share some of my process and thoughts, especially for those looking for 'Deltarune OC ideas' or 'Deltarune concept art' inspiration. When I started conceptualizing 'Article,' my main goal was to integrate her seamlessly into the Deltarune universe as a 'secret boss OC.' I drew a lot of inspiration from the game's quirky and often challenging boss fights. Her initial concept, even an older version I called 'Lost Caster,' revolved around a news reporter backstory. I loved the idea of a character who documents events but then becomes a central, unexpected challenge. This 'news reporter' background allows for some really interesting dialogue and attack patterns, like reporting on Kris's actions during battle! Visual design was key. I decided on a vibrant look: a blue and light blue striped sweater, paired with dark red pants, brown boots, and an orange satchel. These colors felt right for a Darkner, and the satchel hints at her reporting tools. I sketched out various 'oc poses ideas,' including both frightened and attack stances, to really capture her personality and potential battle movements. Seeing her in full-color design really brought her to life! Now, for the fun part: battle ideas! Thinking about 'Deltarune secret bosses fanart' and 'Deltarune fan made characters,' I knew her attacks needed to be unique. I envisioned a 'Purple Soul' attack, perhaps involving projectiles that require specific timing or pattern recognition. Another idea I explored was using 'Coasters,' which could be literal coaster-shaped projectiles or perhaps even a ride-like mechanic within the battle. I also thought about 'mirror attacks,' where she might mimic Kris's previous moves, adding a layer of strategic depth. The concept of her battle having similarities to Muffet's boss fight from Undertale, with its unique payment mechanic and web-like attacks, really sparked my imagination for creating something memorable. And of course, every boss needs a theme! I even sketched out concepts for her theme song, tentatively named 'Foretold Hell,' to set the mood.
