What 40 Years Taught Me
In one week, I turn 40.
And yes, I’m an Aquarius.
If things feel like they’re moving fast lately, we are under Aquarius energy. Aquarius energy is taking over for the next 20 years, so things are only going to move faster, and that’s how I move.
Here’s what I’ve learned in 40 years of living:
Not everyone starts life at the same level of awareness, and not everyone grows at the same speed.
You have to be honest with yourself about where you are. Sometimes you outgrow people, places, and environments, and that’s normal.
Ambition is attractive in a woman. If someone doesn’t see that, they’re not your people.
Stop putting everyone else first all the time. Take care of yourself too.
You are here to evolve. That’s the whole point.
Not all women are meant to have children the same way. I was never pregnant, never had an abortion, but I donated my eggs to help other women become mothers. That was my path.
Being feminine doesn’t mean being naive or weak. And being strong doesn’t mean losing your softness.
Understanding your Human Design helps you understand yourself better.
I’m a Projector, so the typical “balanced life” everyone talks about doesn’t really fit me.
Every person’s life experience is different. Don’t compare yours to anyone else’s.
Your health matters. But let’s be real: money stress can affect your health too.
Your body is made to move, work, and stay active.
It’s not wrong to leave people behind when you’ve grown past them. You are here to evolve not to be a babysitter for others.
You don’t owe anyone access to your life. Not everyone deserves your time, your energy, or your personal space.
Peace is better than approval. Your inner calm is more important than trying to make everyone happy.
Rest is not laziness. Your body and mind need time to reset so you can show up stronger.
Boundaries will upset some people. That’s fine. People who benefit from your lack of boundaries will always resist them.
Being alone is better than being in the wrong company. Being with the wrong people can drain you more than being by yourself.
Your intuition gets stronger when you stop ignoring it. The more you listen to that inner voice, the clearer your decisions become.
You don’t need to prove yourself to anyone. Your growth speaks for itself. The right people will see it.
Growth will change you and that’s the goal.
You’re not meant to stay the same version of yourself forever.
At 40, I’m not trying to be perfect.
I’m just being real, clear, and honest with myself.
Reflecting on four decades of life truly highlights the importance of evolving at your own pace without comparing yourself to others. Aquarius energy emphasizes progress and change, and embracing this cosmic influence helps me move forward with confidence. In my experience, recognizing when you’ve outgrown certain people or environments isn’t easy but essential for growth. It took me time to accept that not everyone will understand or support your ambitions, especially as a woman. Prioritizing yourself does not mean being selfish—it means ensuring that you’re strong and whole to show up authentically. Understanding Human Design, like identifying as a Projector, has clarified why traditional advice about a “balanced life” didn’t entirely fit me. This insight encourages others to honor their unique energy patterns rather than forcing themselves into societal norms. Physical health and mental peace go hand in hand, but external factors such as financial stress can heavily impact both. Incorporating regular movement into my routine has been crucial, along with embracing rest as a necessary part of maintaining strength rather than laziness. Setting boundaries is challenging yet liberating. Often, the people who resist your boundaries might be the ones who previously benefited from your openness. Embracing solitude, rather than staying in draining relationships, enhances my intuition and inner calm. Life’s purpose centers on evolution, not perfection. Sharing my personal journey helps underscore that growth naturally changes you and that accepting this process with honesty is liberating. Listening to your inner voice becomes easier and decisions become clearer when you trust yourself first. Ultimately, turning 40 has reaffirmed that being real with yourself, prioritizing your well-being, and following your unique path creates a life of purpose, authenticity, and peace.
