After Intensity, the Nervous System Speaks

After a weekend at my retreat, stepping into deep inner work, and then moving into a new home, this little one was very anxious. His anxiety was so high that he even got sick on the way here.

Now he’s slowly checking everything around, taking it all in… and of course, the safest and most comfortable place for him is in my arms.

And I can’t ignore the parallel with us as humans.

This weekend stretched me too. New layers, new awareness, new emotions… and just like him, the nervous system needs time to adjust after intensity and change.

We may not always show it the same way, but the overwhelm is real.

And what we need is simple… a moment to breathe, a sense of safety, and something- or someone- that feels like home.
