🇲🇾How I see money now in my 30s

1. Money buys OPTIONS.

Not luxury or status.

The option to help family.

The option to take care of your health.

The option to walk away from the life you don’t like.

2. Health = Wealth

Medical bills are expensive.

Feeling tired and exhausted all the time is expensive.

Feeling mentally drained is expensive.

Taking care of yourself EARLY is one of the best investments you can make.

3. It’s not about LOOKING RICH

The goal is to build a life that feels free.

A life that doesn’t feel bounded

A worry free life.

The older I get, the more I care about the choices I can make.

Anyone feeling the same?

... Read moreIn my experience, shifting how you think about money in your 30s really transforms your overall happiness and sense of control over life. Money isn’t just about accumulating luxuries or status symbols; it's about buying options—a word that truly resonates as you mature. Options give you the power to support your loved ones, prioritize your well-being, and walk away from situations that don’t serve your happiness. For example, having financial options allowed me to take a sabbatical to focus on my mental health, something I wouldn’t have considered earlier in my career. Equally important is the understanding that health is wealth. Medical expenses can quickly drain savings if you neglect health early on, and the energy it takes to push through exhaustion or stress often reduces productivity and satisfaction in life. Early investments in healthy habits, like regular exercise or preventive care, are some of the smartest financial decisions I’ve made, paying off both physically and financially. It’s also worth noting that mental health care shouldn’t be overlooked; stress management and mental well-being impact overall wealth just as much as physical health. Finally, the idea of not trying to look rich but to live freely cannot be overstated. The societal pressure to display wealth through possessions can trap many into cycles of debt or dissatisfaction. Instead, I’ve found more joy in cultivating a lifestyle grounded in freedom and fewer worries. This means financial decisions that enable me to choose how and where I spend my time rather than chasing appearances. If you’re seeing money differently in your 30s like I have, remember, it’s not just about accumulating cash—it’s about how that cash translates into choices, health, and peace of mind. Embrace these shifts early, and you can build a foundation for long-term freedom and fulfillment.

Alright peopleeeee we are heading into the mid-30s soon. There’s so much noise about aging, and I know people who will never reveal their age but there is so much freedom in just embracing it. Also, can we talk about how the 30s are so much better than the 20s? No complaints here. My husband
