Spring nails and rating

You know how I'm always on the hunt for the perfect nail style, from those super "artsy" designs to the simple, elegant "shapes" that just feel right? Lately, one type of nail treatment has been popping up everywhere: BIAB nails. I kept seeing it mentioned in my feeds, and after some of my recent nail experiences – like that one set that cost "$90" and left me feeling so let down (4/10, never again!) – I decided it was time to dive in and see what the hype was all about. For those wondering, BIAB stands for "Builder in a Bottle." It's essentially a type of gel that's a bit thicker and stronger than your regular gel polish, designed to give your natural nails extra strength and encourage growth. I've always struggled with my nails being a bit weak, especially after removing some of my bolder acrylic or gel extensions. So, the promise of stronger, healthier nails that still look amazing was a huge draw for me. My first BIAB experience was actually pretty great. I went for a natural, slightly almond "shape" – something I usually avoid because my nails tend to break easily at the sides. The application felt quicker than traditional gels, and it cured beautifully under the LED light. I chose a soft pastel pink, thinking ahead to "spring nail ideas." The finish was incredibly glossy, and the "colors" looked so vibrant and true to the swatch. No "chiclets gum" look here, thankfully! What really impressed me was the durability. Usually, by week two, I'm already seeing chips or lifting, but my BIAB set held up incredibly well. I was doing all my usual activities, and they stayed perfect. I even felt like my nails underneath were getting stronger, which is a massive win in my book. It felt like a true 10/10 experience in terms of wear, something I rarely achieve with other methods. I also loved how versatile BIAB felt. You can wear it as a natural overlay, or you can build it up slightly for a bit of extension if you want more length. This makes it perfect for trying out different looks without committing to something too intense. I'm already dreaming of some new "spring" designs I could try with BIAB as the base, maybe even some cute "cherries" like that one set I rated 7/10. Now, let's talk cost. My BIAB set was comparable to a good gel manicure, around $60-75, depending on the salon and any added design. It definitely felt like better value than that "$90" set I regretted. Considering how long it lasted and the health benefits for my natural nails, I'd say the "rating" for value is quite high. Overall, I'd give BIAB nails a solid 9/10. While I still adore the creative freedom of some of my more "artsy" acrylic sets, for everyday wear and promoting nail health, BIAB is a fantastic contender. It’s definitely earned a spot among my favorite nail treatments, especially for spring when I want something fresh, durable, and naturally beautiful.
