he didn’t tell me he was born with no feet. AMA

My husband didn’t tell me he was born with no feet until a year and a half into our relationship. It was a huge shock not going to lie, and I know it was his story to tell on his own time. It was definitely a shocker though and took time to digest what life would look like.

He also gave me permission to post this btw so im not airing out unwanted business 🙂

Ask me anything at all if curious!!

... Read moreWhen learning that a loved one was born without feet, many people experience a wide range of emotions, just like in this story. It can be surprising and sometimes overwhelming to adjust perspectives, yet it also opens doors to understand strength, resilience, and unconditional love. People born without feet often navigate life with remarkable adaptability, utilizing prosthetics, wheelchairs, or other mobility tools to maintain independence and pursue their passions. Relationships built on trust and openness become even more meaningful when partners share their vulnerabilities at their own pace. Candid conversations about disabilities foster empathy and break down stigma, enriching connections beyond physical differences. If you’re curious about daily life without feet or how partners support one another emotionally and practically, asking questions in a respectful and compassionate manner encourages awareness. Topics might include mobility adaptations, personal challenges, emotional impacts, and how couples navigate surprises and build shared futures. Remember, it’s important to honor the timing and personal boundaries when someone chooses to disclose their story. Ultimately, love and understanding transcend physical conditions, and stories like this highlight the importance of patience and acceptance in all relationships. Feel free to ask anything genuinely—such dialogues help normalize different experiences and inspire others facing similar situations.

I find this puzzling. As an amputee there is no way it could be hidden from someone you are in an intimate relationship with. You have to take the prosthetics off at night. You have to wash your liner and clean your stump. You would have seen a pylon-the pole that connects the upper leg to the foot. The feet are not cut off at the ankle they are cut off higher up the leg. There would be a Foot shell (looks like a foot), inside that removable shell is the actual “foot” which is a metal piece that looks like a flat bar. All of that is connected to a pole and that pole is connected to a socket that the remaining leg goes into. I find it completely unbelievable that you didn’t know.
