a reading tradition just for me!

A tradition I have just for myself! 📚✨

Reading at least 2 Christmas books every December.

Reading is honestly one of the easiest ways for me to get into the holiday spirit. For Halloween, I did horror/spooky books. November was all the cozy fall vibes. And now for December, I’m diving into Christmas or winter-themed reads!

We always see so many family traditions this time of year, but this is one little tradition that’s just for me, and I look forward to it every single season. 🎄💫

... Read moreHaving a personal reading tradition during the holiday season is a wonderful way to celebrate the spirit of the season while carving out peaceful moments just for yourself. Reading at least two Christmas-themed books each December creates a cozy, familiar atmosphere that perfectly complements the festive environment around us. This approach helps transform ordinary days into meaningful experiences packed with warmth, nostalgia, and joy. Many readers choose works by bestselling authors like Julie Murphy and Sierra Simone, whose Christmas-themed stories often blend heartfelt emotions and charming holiday magic. Immersing yourself in such books can deepen your appreciation for holiday traditions, even as you create a unique ritual tailored entirely to you. This tradition also reflects the beautiful way seasonal reading can shift moods and enhance our connection with the time of year. Just as horror stories set the tone for October and cozy tales warm up November, Christmas books evoke festive cheer and winter wonderlands that prepare the heart and mind for year-end celebrations. By dedicating time to this personal ritual, you effectively recharge your spirit, relieve stress, and foster mindfulness during an otherwise hectic season. Moreover, this reading habit becomes a meaningful self-care practice. It prioritizes your own happiness and relaxation amid family gatherings, gift shopping, and holiday preparations. Taking moments to sip hot cocoa and delve into holiday stories can be deeply restorative, elevating your emotional well-being. In essence, a Christmas reading tradition is more than just a pastime—it’s a way to connect with the season in a calm, joyful, and authentic manner. For those looking to start their own, consider picking up timeless holiday classics or contemporary festive novels, setting a cozy reading nook, and committing to this simple yet profound celebration every December. Your annual journey through Christmas books may soon become one of your most cherished holiday customs.

Why Your "Tradition" Is Actually Hypocrisy.
If you are the only one in the house allowed to have a "bad day," "quiet time," or a "messy desk," you don’t have a partnership. You have a double standard. The view from the center is simple: You cannot demand from your wife what you are too lazy to provide yourself. The
