cornbread in icecream? yes please! 🍨🫐
Is Van Leeuwen ice cream worth the hype?🍦🤔 Don't buy until you read this! 🛑 I saw these flavors at Kroger today and decided to finally try some!
Here is my quick ranking:
Swirly Whirly Blue Thing: AMAZING. The blueberry swirls and honey cornbread are a 10/10. This is the winner for me, even my picky husband enjoyed this one! I didn’t expect the cornbread to work, but it did in the BEST WAY!! 🏆
Dubai Style Chocolate Cone: 6/10. Good flavor, but didn't feel "Dubai Style" enough to me. It was basic and not worth $6.99 🫣
Which flavor would you try? The “Hats off sundae swirl” is calling my name next!👇🏻
Trying Van Leeuwen ice cream for the first time was a delightful adventure, especially discovering how well cornbread pairs with blueberry in their Swirly Whirly Blue Thing flavor. The honey cornbread pieces not only add a surprising textural contrast but also a subtle sweetness that complements the fruity blueberry swirls beautifully. This unexpected pairing really elevated the ice cream experience beyond the usual creamy and fruity combinations I’ve had. I usually approach ice cream with a preference for classic flavors, but this adventurous choice reminded me how fun it can be to try something unconventional. The generous amount of cornbread chunks ensured that each spoonful was consistent in flavor and texture, keeping the experience interesting and fresh. Even those who usually shy away from savory elements in desserts might find this flavor intriguing, as the cornbread is more sweet and honey-infused than savory. Comparing it to the Dubai Style Chocolate Cone, which was decent but felt more basic and less inspired to me, made it clear that innovation in ice cream flavors can really pay off when done right. Although the chocolate cone had a pleasant texture with the cone pieces, it lacked that wow factor and felt overpriced at Kroger’s $6.99 price point. For fans of unique gourmet ice cream, Van Leeuwen’s range offers an exciting exploration. I’m especially curious to try the Hats Off Sundae Swirl next, which features vanilla ice cream with brownies and promises another rich flavor experience. This kind of playful artistry in ice cream flavors makes shopping for treats more enjoyable, turning an ordinary grocery run into a tasting adventure. Overall, venturing into flavors like blueberry with honey cornbread has made me appreciate how creative ice cream makers can get. If you’re open to new taste sensations, the Swirly Whirly Blue Thing should be on your list. It’s also a reminder that sometimes what seems like an odd ingredient in ice cream can surprisingly work in the best way.

I've been wanting to try the mango sticky rice and caramelized banana one! Isn't this the brand that had ranch flavored ice cream??
