are these the snack of the summer??! 🍋🏝️
I am a huge fan of fruit riot so when I saw that IslandWay came out with a similar product, I had to try it. These are similar to fruit riot, but with real lemon pieces! They both started melting really fast though, so keep that in mind before buying!
I thought they would be extremely sour due to the lemon, but the watermelon flavor actually had a nice balance. It was sweet, slightly sour, and super refreshing. I would grab this flavor again.
The strawberry flavor was a miss for me though, it was so sour and tasted bitter. I didn’t get much sweetness. It was a let down.
Price: $6.99 at Target!
Cals: Strawberry 90 cals, watermelon 80 cals!
Would you try these? 👇🏻
After seeing Island Way Lemonade Bites pop up everywhere, I was so excited to scoop them up from Target. There's nothing quite like finding that perfect refreshing treat to beat the summer heat, right? My initial thought was, could these truly be the snack of the summer? I was eager to find out. One thing I noticed immediately, and definitely worth mentioning, is how quickly these little guys start to melt! Seriously, they're like tiny ice cubes with an agenda. My advice? Don't dilly-dally. Pop them straight into your mouth from the freezer, or if you're serving them to friends, place them in a small, chilled bowl right before serving. You could even try freezing the bowl beforehand to give yourself a few extra precious minutes of frozen bliss. This rapid melting, while a bit inconvenient, actually makes them super easy to eat and enjoy quickly, almost like a burst of flavor that disappears just as fast as it arrived. The packaging proudly boasts 'real lemon pieces,' and let me tell you, it's not just marketing! You can actually see and taste those tiny bits of real lemon. For the watermelon flavor, these pieces added a delightful, zesty zing that perfectly cut through the sweetness, creating that 'perfectly sour and refreshing' balance I loved. However, in the strawberry flavor, where I found the overall taste already 'too sour and almost bitter,' the additional lemon pieces intensified that pucker-factor. It really shows how much those real ingredients can influence the final taste experience, and for me, it was a game-changer between the two. At $6.99 for a bag, I think these are a fun, occasional indulgence. While I found mine at Target, I've heard whispers of them appearing in other major grocery chains like Walmart or even some specialty stores during the summer months. Always check the frozen dessert aisle! Given their unique texture and the burst of fresh fruit flavor, they feel like a step up from typical frozen fruit bars. It makes me wonder if they'll expand their flavor range or even offer a multi-pack soon. The calorie count (80-90 cals per serving) also makes them a guilt-free pleasure for those watching their intake. If you're already a fan of products like Fruit Riot, you'll definitely want to give Island Way Bites a try. While both offer a similar concept of frozen fruit spheres, the 'real lemon pieces' in Island Way truly set them apart, especially if you appreciate that authentic citrus kick. For me, it was like a more sophisticated, slightly less artificial version of those fun, nostalgic frozen treats. If you're looking for other ways to cool down, consider making your own frozen lemonade pops or even blending these bites into a quick smoothie for an extra burst of flavor! Overall, my experience with Island Way Lemonade Bites was a journey of sweet surprises and sour lessons. The watermelon flavor is definitely a repurchase for me, a true taste of summer. These unique frozen bites are making waves, and for good reason – they’re a simple, delicious way to add a little zest to your hot weather routine.

These were a big NO for me
