Lie. Pray. Lie. Pray 😞
Many of us have found ourselves caught in the exhausting loop of telling lies and then hoping for forgiveness or intervention through prayer. This cycle often stems from fear—fear of judgment, rejection, or facing uncomfortable truths. Recognizing the pattern is the first step toward breaking free. In my own experience, I noticed how this back-and-forth created an internal battle that drained my energy and trust in myself. What helped me was embracing radical honesty, not only with others but within myself. Practicing mindfulness and self-compassion allowed me to face my mistakes without harsh self-criticism. Additionally, seeking support from trusted friends or a counselor can provide a safe space to express these feelings honestly. Prayer or meditation can shift from a plea for escape to a practice of grounding and self-awareness. Over time, this creates a foundation where honesty and faith coexist, fostering genuine peace rather than a cycle of guilt and avoidance. If you find yourself in a similar pattern, try writing down your feelings without censorship. Notice when and why the impulse to lie arises, and gently challenge it with truth. Remember, growth is a process, and each honest step forward is progress toward healing and freedom.
