Living a life that involves staying at the masjid and managing daily challenges requires flexibility and resilience. From personal experience, accommodating belongings, such as bags of clothes, in unfamiliar shared spaces can feel daunting at first, especially when mixed accommodations aren’t an option. It’s important to communicate clearly with the community, asking about rules regarding storing personal items to ensure security and respect for shared spaces. Walking a 10 km distance to work daily is physically demanding but can be rewarding mentally and physically if approached mindfully. Starting the day by waking up to a gray, quiet morning sets a reflective tone that can help prepare mentally for the journey ahead. To maintain energy, I found that wearing comfortable shoes, planning hydration breaks, and pacing myself throughout the walk made a noticeable difference. It also offers an opportunity for quiet reflection, which can be spiritually uplifting when paired with the serene environment of the masjid. Adapting to this routine means balancing physical exertion with rest, especially when your sleep environment is the masjid. While it may seem less than ideal, creating a small personal space with familiar items can provide comfort.
