Some photos from my Black and Iridescent Wedding!
Explaining the pictures in order
My wonderful husband agreed to wear that jacket without knowing anything about my dress.
The black lace on my dress was added because it belonged to his Grandmother that passed away in May.
My amazing Bridemaids that have seen me in many different times of my life. Their dresses are black stretchy fabric with iridescent stars on them.
The Groomsmen(and Flower Child[aka my *little* brother] at the end) wore black and I made the Boutineers out of left over flowers from when I made the bouquets.
My dad got sick back in 2021 and he has been in a nursing home or hospital since. Sadly we were not able to get him to the wedding, but it was live streamed on YouTube so he could watch. This was me blowing him a kiss.
*lighting makes a difference-keep that in mind*
Lighting of the Unity Candle. Symbolizing that we are now one.
Exchanging of the rings. My ring is beautiful and his definitely is his personality. It is Green with a Guitar String inside. Music is huge for us.
First Kiss as Husband and Wife.
The calm exit.
Just Kidding! RUN! 🤣
I will post more pictures when we get them. If you have any questions on how we did anything or whatnot, just ask! Have a Blessed Day!

Weddings are such a beautiful blend of personal stories and shared joy, and this black and iridescent wedding perfectly captures that essence. The thoughtful inclusion of black lace from the groom’s late grandmother adds a touching family heirloom element to the bride’s dress, showing how traditions and memories can be woven directly into wedding attire. Iridescent details, like the bridesmaids' starry black dresses, bring a magical and modern vibe, reflecting a celestial theme that’s both stylish and meaningful. The groom’s choice of a jacket without prior knowledge of the bride’s dress highlights trust and spontaneity, which often make wedding memories even more special. DIY aspects such as handmade boutonnieres created from leftover bouquet flowers add a personal and sustainable touch to the celebration, illustrating how creativity can enhance the wedding experience while reducing waste. Using lighting to set the mood—especially during significant moments like the unity candle lighting—demonstrates how ambiance influences both the ceremony’s emotional tone and photography quality. The exchange of rings symbolizes the couple’s shared love for music, with the groom’s ring uniquely featuring a guitar string. This kind of personalization speaks volumes about representing individual personalities within wedding rituals. The bride’s sharing of her dad’s health challenges and his presence via a YouTube livestream underscores how technology can bridge emotional distance, allowing loved ones to participate in meaningful events remotely. Finally, those candid and playful “run” exit photos remind us that weddings are not just about solemn promises but also joy, laughter, and memorable moments with friends and family. This wedding successfully combines deep sentimental value with fun, style, and heartfelt participation. For couples planning a black and iridescent wedding or looking to incorporate meaningful family heirlooms and DIY elements, this celebration provides rich inspiration. Consider lighting effects carefully, personalize your rings or accessories to reflect your shared interests, and use technology like livestreaming to include those who can’t attend in person. Small details—like matching the theme with iridescent stars or creating floral boutonnieres from bouquet remnants—make those moments even more unforgettable.
