Making homemade ketchup has been a game-changer in my kitchen for both taste and health reasons. Unlike store-bought versions packed with preservatives, artificial flavors, and high fructose corn syrup, this recipe uses straightforward ingredients such as tomato paste, distilled white vinegar, and natural sugars that you likely already have. One key tip I've learned is to let the ketchup simmer gently on low heat after it comes to a boil. This step helps meld the flavors together beautifully, especially with the addition of Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, and garlic powder, which give it a savory depth. Stirring occasionally ensures it won't stick or burn. After cooking, I allow it to cool fully before storing it in a clean container. Refrigeration keeps it fresh for up to a week, perfect for daily use. Beyond the taste benefits, making ketchup at home lets me control sugar levels, making it a healthier option for my family. I've also experimented with adding a pinch of smoked paprika or a dash of cayenne pepper to spice things up for barbecue season. This flexibility means you can customize the recipe to your liking. For anyone interested in easy recipes and home cooking, this ketchup is a great starter that pairs well with fries, burgers, and even homemade meatloaf. Overall, you'd be surprised how quick and satisfying it is to make your own ketchup—stop buying it and enjoy this easy, tasty alternative that elevates your meals and puts you in charge of what goes into your food.

Is it 1 tsp of salt, 1 1/2 tsp of salt, or 1/2 tsp of salt? The ingredient list confused me.
