Drop it like it’s hot (and crunchy)!
This has been in my to try list for some time and finally made it! Super quick, easy and delicious. Will definitely be making it at home more often!
Ingredients:
1 cup neutral oil (I used garlic olive oil from Trader Joe’s)
2/3 cup Kinder’s Spicy Garlic Crunch seasoning
1 tablespoon soy sauce (optional but recommended)
1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil (optional but recommended)
Heatproof glass or metal jar/bowl
Instructions:
1. In a small pot, heat the oil on medium high until it reaches 400 degrees F. If you do not have a thermometer, heat until it begins to shimmer, not smoke.
2. Put the seasoning in the bowl/jar of choice.
3. Carefully pour the hot oil over the seasoning. Mixture will bubble and sizzle. Stir well to incorporate all of the seasoning to ensure it is all coated.
4. Let the mixture cool completely to room temperature, then mix in the soy sauce and toasted sesame oil.
Enjoy!

I've recently tried making this spicy garlic crunch oil at home, and it has quickly become a staple in my kitchen. What I love most is how versatile it is—you can drizzle it over noodles, rice, steamed veggies, or even use it as a dipping sauce base. Using neutral oils like garlic-infused olive oil not only adds flavor but also helps carry the heat from the spicy garlic crunch seasoning. One tip I picked up is to heat the oil slowly and keep an eye on it so it shimmers but doesn’t smoke, which preserves the oil’s flavor and keeps the seasoning from burning. Pouring the hot oil over the seasoning creates a satisfying sizzle and crisps up the garlic bits, giving you that perfect crunchy texture. I recommend letting the oil mixture cool completely before stirring in soy sauce and toasted sesame oil to add extra depth and umami. If you want to experiment, adding a pinch of chili flakes or crushed red pepper can amp up the heat even more. This recipe inspired me to check out Kinder’s Spicy Garlic Crunch seasoning, imported from Spain and known for its premium quality and bold flavor. It's great to find specialty ingredients like this to elevate homemade condiments. Overall, making your own chili garlic oil at home is not only rewarding but also customizable to your preferred spice level and oil-based flavors. I encourage anyone who loves easy, flavorful cooking hacks to give this a try—it's perfect for meal prep and delivering a quick punch of flavor to everyday meals.
