Predators and scammers know that urgency + authority = compliance. That’s why they pretend to be law enforcement, delivery drivers, or utility workers.

The rule is simple: pause and think before you act. Blindly trusting a stranger can open you up to a dangerous situation.

If somebody you do not know or are not expecting knocks on your door, it’s best to err on the side of caution and confirm first. Don’t just open your door.
