There’s a version of ♂ Mars energy everybody recognizes: the strike, the adrenaline, the charge forward, the moment the warrior enters the battle. But pairing Bath & Body Works Mulan Body Cream with TUMI Continuum Eau de Parfum made me interested in something less glamorous and, honestly, more difficult.
What happens after the adrenaline wears off and the armor is still heavy?
I originally thought about Continuum as a clean, modern fragrance, but its architecture tells a much heavier story. Amber, olibanum and green mandarin open the composition before tobacco leaf, orris and cistus move through the heart, eventually settling into suede, oud and musk. The brightness keeps it moving, but underneath that movement is incense, tobacco, resin, soft leather, woods and weight.
So Mulan gets a better assignment.
Mulan isn’t the armor. It’s the human being underneath it.
I don’t need the body cream making Continuum heavier or trying to make it “more masculine.” Continuum already showed up carrying enough damn equipment. 😂 Instead, I want Mulan creating a cleaner, brighter frame beneath the incense, tobacco, suede and oud so those darker materials feel like something being carried rather than something sitting on top of me.
And that completely changes the fantasy.
This isn’t somebody sprinting into battle while the motivational soundtrack reaches its dramatic climax. This is after the speech. The armor has weight now. Responsibility stopped being theoretical. Everybody is looking at you, the road is still long and there’s no adrenaline rush coming to make the next mile easier.
So you adjust the straps.
Redistribute the weight.
And keep moving.
That is Mars too. Not adrenaline. Endurance. ♂🛡️
Mars isn’t only the force required to begin something. Sometimes Mars is the discipline required to continue after beginning stops being exciting. There are days when strength looks like kicking the door open, and there are days when strength is carrying what matters another mile because it still needs to get where it’s going.
Even the fragrance architecture reflects that. Green mandarin gives Continuum forward motion, while olibanum, tobacco, amber, cistus, suede and oud give that movement gravity. It doesn’t smell weightless. It smells substantial without becoming stationary.
And because this is Houston, heat and humidity still get a vote. 😂 With incense, tobacco, amber, suede and oud involved, I’d rather respect the composition through controlled application, evening wear and AC transitions than confuse excess with strength. You can build a scent bubble without declaring chemical warfare on everybody within a three-table radius.
That might be the real Warrior Protocol:
Strength isn’t only how much force you can produce. Sometimes it’s how much responsibility you can carry without allowing the weight to choose your direction.
♂ Mars Day intention: Strength is not always how hard I strike. Sometimes strength is how far I can carry what matters. ⚔️🛡️

Which version of ♂ Mars speaks louder to you: the explosive force that wins the first battle, or the controlled endurance that’s still moving after the excitement wears off?
