HEADACHE Balm ✨
I’ve tried various natural remedies for headaches, and making a homemade balm with essential oils has been one of the most effective and pleasant methods. Using coconut oil as a base not only helps blend the essential oils well but also nourishes the skin. Peppermint oil is well known for its cooling effect and ability to reduce headache pain thanks to its menthol content, while lavender oil offers a calming aroma that helps ease stress and tension — a common headache trigger. To prepare the balm, I mix about ¼ cup of coconut oil with 20 drops of peppermint oil and 12 drops of lavender oil, just like the recipe in the image. The mixture is then stored in a small jar and applied to the temples, forehead, and back of the neck when a headache begins. The balm’s aroma alone can provide immediate comfort, and the topical application helps to soothe muscle tension. Keep in mind to perform a patch test beforehand to ensure you don’t have any skin sensitivity to the oils. My personal routine involves gently massaging the balm into the temples while taking deep breaths, which helps relax both my body and mind. This natural balm not only reduces headache intensity but also promotes better relaxation, making it a valuable addition to my self-care regimen.
