Meet My HORSES

... Read moreIt's always a joy to share glimpses into my life at the stables, especially when it involves my amazing horse family! You've probably seen pictures of my sweet Arlo, the handsome dark horse often sporting his favorite blue blanket in the paddock. He's such a character! Arlo is truly a gentle giant, and while he can be a bit cheeky at times, his calm demeanor is incredibly comforting. I remember one chilly morning, he decided to 'borrow' my hat right off my head while I was cleaning his stall in the red barn – a moment that always makes me laugh. Having horses like Arlo, Violet, and Teddy is a huge part of my life. Each one has such a distinct personality. Violet, my main girl, is a spirited mare with so much heart. We've been through so much together, and she's definitely my ride-or-die. Then there’s Teddy, with his curious white blaze, always peeking out from his stable window, just waiting for treats. But let's get back to Arlo! He's a fantastic companion for trail rides; steady and reliable, always up for an adventure. I love our quiet moments in the paddock, just watching him graze or giving him a good scratch behind the ears. For anyone curious about what it’s like to have a horse like Arlo, it’s a journey of learning and love. Daily stable life involves a lot of care: mucking stalls, providing fresh water, and making sure their feed is just right. Arlo, for example, loves his hay, but we always make sure he gets his supplements for his shiny coat. Grooming is also a big part of our routine; it’s not just about keeping them clean, but also a wonderful bonding experience. I often find myself lost in thought while brushing Arlo, feeling his soft coat under my hands. It's during these quiet moments that our bond truly deepens. One thing I've learned from owning horses is that each one teaches you something new. Arlo has taught me so much about patience and trust. He has this way of looking at you with his big, soulful eyes that just melts your heart. While the 'WARNING PONY BITES' sign on one of the stable doors always gets a chuckle, thankfully Arlo is more of a gentle nudger than a biter! It's important to understand each horse's quirks and respect their boundaries, which builds a strong, trusting relationship. Whether we're out enjoying a sunny day in the paddock or just spending time together in the stables, my horses bring so much joy and purpose to my life. Arlo, Violet, and Teddy aren't just animals; they're family. It's a demanding but incredibly rewarding lifestyle, and I wouldn't trade the muddy boots and early mornings for anything. If you're passionate about horses, you understand that unique connection. It's truly a horsegirl's dream come true!
