A Wrecking of Salt and Fire by E.K. Condos

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book was a huge surprise. I have had the worst luck with indie authors, I’ve only read a few indie fantasy books that I actually like. 😅 so this one being as good as it was was a shock to me.

The twists were wild. The end was insane.

I’d say the only thing I didn’t like was that the end was FAST. I kinda read it as one long run on sentence in my head. But it was still insanely good.

Now onto Metal Slinger for book 3!

What really stood out to me was how E.K. Condos managed to pack so much excitement and unpredictability into the storyline. The plot twists kept me hooked throughout — at times I was completely caught off guard by the direction the story took. Unlike many indie books that drag or feel unpolished, this one delivered a crisp narrative with an intense climax that felt both thrilling and overwhelming. Admittedly, the ending was so rapid it almost felt like a single breathless run-on sentence, which for me was a little hard to digest at first. But on reflection, it matched the high-energy build-up perfectly and left me wanting more. One aspect that indie fantasy readers might appreciate is the uniqueness of the world-building and character dynamics. The story doesn’t rely on predictable tropes but embraces complexity, which makes the reading experience rich and engaging. If you’re someone who’s had mixed experiences with indie fantasy, this book could change your perspective. It’s a testament to how indie authors can offer fresh, inventive stories as compelling as traditionally published ones. And with 'Metal Slinger' next in line, I’m eager to continue this journey. For anyone looking to dive into lesser-known fantasy series filled with surprises and big payoffs, 'A Wrecking of Salt and Fire' is definitely worth your time.
