Book 10/100 for 2026

Severed Heart by Kate Stewart

This book was heartbreaking, sad, awful, joyful, healing, happy… I was so so angry at everything the FMC and MMC went through but also thankful they connected. The end had me sobbing next to my husband in bed, because fuckkk they both deserved a happy ending. I knew it was coming because of the other books but after getting to know the FMC, I was devastated regardless.

Will Tyler get his happy ending? I have to wait til May to find out. 😅😩

Edit: I soft DNFed Blood Bound by Ellis Hunter after this due to the very clear comments made about republicans. I don’t enjoy seeing my political party slandered and shit on in books. I may go back to it eventually. Now, I’m reading Primal by Kayleigh King!

I particularly connected with the FMC and MMC's resilience despite everything they endured. It’s rare to find a book that can make you experience both the depths of heartbreak and the lightness of healing within the same narrative. What stood out most was how the author didn’t shy away from the difficult emotions – anger, sadness, and frustration were woven in alongside moments of joy and tenderness. This balance really brought the characters to life and made their final connection even more meaningful. Additionally, the theme of legacy hinted at in the subtitle “The Birth of a Warrior Legacy” adds a rich layer to the story, suggesting that these characters are paving the way for something powerful in the series' future. I’m particularly curious about Tyler’s story and whether he’ll find his happy ending, which is why the May release can’t come soon enough! For fans seeking a romance with emotional depth and complex characters, Severed Heart offers a compelling read. It’s a reminder that even the most heartbreaking journeys can lead to hope and healing.
