One effective home remedy I follow involves consuming a mixture of half a teaspoon of ajwain seeds, a small piece of jaggery, and warm water before bedtime. Ajwain, known for its carminative properties, helps alleviate gas and bloating by promoting digestion and reducing gas formation. Jaggery adds a mild sweetness and aids in balancing digestion. Additionally, consistently including fiber-rich fruits such as papaya, apple, carrot, beetroot, and guava in your diet can significantly improve your digestive health. Papaya contains the enzyme papain, which helps break down proteins and soothe the stomach. Apples and guava are rich in dietary fiber, which supports bowel movements and reduces constipation, indirectly reducing gas buildup. From personal experience, avoiding tea on an empty stomach in the morning also prevents unnecessary stomach irritation and gas. Starting the day with a gentle herbal tea or warm water with lemon tends to be less harsh and helps maintain a balanced digestive system. Consistent attention to a balanced diet, proper hydration, and mindful eating habits—such as eating slowly and avoiding excessive carbonated drinks—further enhances digestion and reduces stomach discomfort. Integrating these small lifestyle changes has helped me and many others naturally support digestive wellness without resorting to over-the-counter medications.
