Reveal- Disco and Vintage Christmas Tree Goth Glam
It's a disco Christmas! My black tree is officially decorated! It's full of disco balls of all sizes and vintage ball ornaments in white and silver. The first layer is a ton of teardrop garland and it's topped with a black velvet bow. The tree skirt is fluffy white with silver sequin snowflakes. The vintage ornaments used on this tree were thrifted probably close to 10 years ago. The tree itself, bows, and most of the disco balls are from @walmart (some from previous years and some from this year). The tiniest disco balls are from @dollartree and have been collected over the years. The tree skirt is @biglots and is probably close to 10 years old, as well. The teardrop garland is an Amazon purchase from....you guessed it.... probably 10 years ago. I love mixing old with the new to create a sparkly vision. This tree is a little goth and a lot of glam. Goth glam decor makes me so happy! I love how much it sparkles!!

Do you stick with the same decorations each year or do you like to mix it up?

I absolutely adore how my disco and vintage-inspired Christmas tree turned out this year! There's something so magical about combining the unexpected – the glitter of disco balls with the nostalgic charm of vintage Christmas tree ornaments. If you're dreaming of a similar dazzling display, I've got some tips from my own journey to help you achieve that perfect 'goth glam' sparkle. First, let's talk about the foundation: the tree itself. While I went with a striking black tree, don't feel limited! A dark green or even a flocked white tree could create a beautiful backdrop for your disco dreams. The key is to think about how your ornaments will pop against the branches. Next, the stars of the show: disco balls! I've found that mixing various sizes truly makes a difference. Tiny ones tucked deep within the branches catch the light in unexpected ways, while larger ones command attention on the outer edges. Don't be afraid to hunt for them everywhere – I've collected mine from places like Dollar Tree for the smaller gems and even Walmart for larger ones. They’re surprisingly versatile and really bring that 'disco' energy. Now, for the 'vintage' touch. This is where the real treasure hunt begins! Thrift stores, antique shops, and even online marketplaces are goldmines for unique vintage Christmas tree ornaments. Look for glass balls in silver, white, or even muted metallic tones. Sometimes slightly chipped or faded ones have the most character. I love how these pieces tell a story and add a timeless elegance that contrasts beautifully with the modern sparkle. Remember to handle them gently and store them carefully so they can be enjoyed for years to come. To get that 'goth glam' feel, incorporate elements like velvet ribbons or bows in deep, rich colors like black, silver, or even a very dark purple. Dark garlands, like the teardrop ones I used, add depth and texture. It's about creating a sophisticated, slightly dramatic ambiance that's still festive and shimmering. Finally, don't underestimate the power of lighting! Beyond your standard tree lights, consider adding a small spotlight or even strategically placed fairy lights to highlight your disco balls and make them truly dance. The way light reflects off these ornaments can transform your entire room into a dazzling wonderland. Mixing old with new isn't just a decorating trick; it's a philosophy. It allows you to create a display that's uniquely 'you,' full of cherished memories and exciting new finds. So go ahead, embrace your inner magpie, and let your Christmas tree sparkle with its own 'disco dreams' this holiday season!
