Watching fireworks is always a spectacular experience, especially during major displays like the 2026 NDP celebrations. Over the past few weeks, I’ve made it a point to visit the Kallang Basin area on Saturdays to catch these dazzling shows, and the atmosphere is truly electric. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, knowing the prime viewing locations can make all the difference. The Stadium Riverside Walk, The Lawn at Kallang, and Tanjong Rhu Promenade are fantastic spots to take in the full breadth of the fireworks. These locations offer expansive views of the basin, allowing you to see the colorful bursts lighting up the sky without obstructions. If you’re planning to bring a camera, try arriving early to secure a good spot and set up your equipment. Timing is key. The festivities typically start around 6:40 PM with the State Flag Flypast, followed by the Presidential 21-gun salute at 6:50 PM. The fireworks show kicks off around 7:40 PM with short bursts, culminating in a grand finale at 8:20 PM. This schedule is perfect for planning an evening outing with family or friends. For photography enthusiasts, capturing the fleeting beauty of fireworks can be challenging but rewarding. I’m planning to share a detailed video soon with tips on camera settings, such as using long exposures and manual focus, to help you get those vibrant, sharp shots. Until then, consider using a tripod and adjusting your ISO and aperture to balance brightness without losing detail. Lastly, the experience is not just about the visuals. The NDP fireworks also highlight Singapore’s rich heritage and unity through synchronized music and vibrant colors. Taking a moment to soak in the atmosphere, enjoy local food stalls nearby, and share the joy with fellow viewers adds to the magic. Don’t forget to like and share your own photos or stories from the event to keep the community spirit alive!
