Rainy 4 Mile Run🌧️
The heat wave finally broke in NYC and it was only 68 degrees this morning. I had to take advantage of the temperature even though it was raining!
Did 4 miles. The rain wasn’t too bad and actually felt pretty good!
As I was running I seen a woman trying to help a goose who couldn’t get through the fence to the rest of its family. A couple of us found some workers to unlock the gate and reunite the goose with his fam.

When I woke up this morning and checked the temperature NYC today, I couldn't believe my luck! After what felt like an endless heatwave, seeing it was only 68 degrees in NYC today felt like a gift from the running gods. Seriously, it felt so good to step outside without immediately feeling overwhelmed by humidity. This was the perfect opportunity to finally tackle those miles I'd been putting off. I decided to embrace the drizzle and set out for a 4-mile run in the rain. Honestly, running in light rain at this comfortable temperature is one of my favorite experiences. There's something incredibly refreshing about it, almost like the city is getting a much-needed cleanse along with you. The air felt crisp, and the usual hustle and bustle seemed a little softer, muted by the gentle patter. As I got closer to the waterfront, it definitely got windy by the water. I had to hold onto my hat a few times, thinking I might almost lose my hat to a rogue gust! It reminded me how quickly conditions can change, even on a short run. Despite the wind, the views were still captivating, even if there was no skyline today visible through the misty air. Every mile felt invigorating, from the first step through 1 mile to pushing past 2 miles. But the run wasn't just about the miles; it was also about an unexpected moment of community. Around the 2-mile mark, I spotted a woman trying to help a goose. It seemed like the poor bird couldn't get back to its family through a fence. Without hesitation, a couple of us stopped our runs to assist. It was a genuine 'quick stop to reunite a goose with their family' moment. We ended up finding some workers who kindly unlocked a gate, and seeing that goose waddle back to its fam was surprisingly heartwarming. It's these little interactions that make city running so unique. By the time I hit 4 miles, I felt completely refreshed and accomplished. All doneee with the run, and with a memorable story to tell! If you're ever debating whether to run when the NYC temperature today is cool and rainy, I say go for it! Just make sure your gear is appropriate – breathable, moisture-wicking fabrics like a swift tech short sleeve and hotty hot shorts are key. And a good pair of shoes, like ASICS Novablast 4s, helps too. It’s amazing how a simple change in weather can transform your entire running experience into something truly magical and memorable.
The green fit is such a vibe!! 😍
