Tell me this isn’t Halloweentown IRL 🤭👻
I finally spent a full day exploring Sleepy Hollow, and it honestly felt like stepping into a gothic fairytale 🕯️🍂 Just 45 minutes from NYC, this village is packed with history, charm, and a little bit of spookiness.
I started my morning with coffee and brunch at Horsefeathers, a cozy spot that’s been around forever and has the best small-town vibe ☕🥞. After that, I wandered through the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, which is way more beautiful than it sounds — winding paths, old mausoleums, and even Washington Irving’s grave (he’s the author of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow).
From there, I visited the Old Dutch Church of Sleepy Hollow, one of the oldest churches in New York, and walked along the Hudson River for gorgeous views 🌿. If you have time, definitely stop by Kykuit, the Rockefeller Estate to see their stunning property.
Pro tip: If you visit in the fall, the entire town goes all out — lantern tours, haunted hayrides, and a massive Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze nearby 🎃✨ But even outside of spooky season, Sleepy Hollow makes the perfect NYC day trip if you’re into history, cozy cafés, and scenic views. #lemon8partner
