november has been full of warm and comforting meals (it's soup seasonnnnnn 🍜🥫🍲), autumn holding on through the first snow, holiday meal prepping, flavored lip balms, hot cocoa and holiday movies before bed, finishing the majority of my christmas decorating, snuggling by the fire, dressing up just because i wanted to feel good (and not always clinging to comfy clothes), rainy walks, admiring the last of the autumn leaves, holiday lights showing up everywhere, live-orchestra movie nights, drives in the rain + so much more!
this transitional month has been strange but comforting.. not in the weather (winter arrived so fast), but in how my days have shifted in feeling. it’s reminded me how much the small, familiar things — a meal made just right, a cozy drink in hand, a fire glowing, or even putting on a favorite outfit — can make a day feel full and warm.
what has your november been like? any small comforts, cozy routines, or little things that have made your days feel brighter? Let's chat! 🫂💌
... Read moreNovember truly brings a unique blend of cozy moments and seasonal shifts that many of us cherish deeply. As autumn lingers with its fiery leaves and crisp air, the first snow softly blankets the world, creating a peaceful transitional atmosphere. This period invites us to slow down and find contentment in simple pleasures — from savoring a perfectly made soup to wrapping up in a warm sweater by the fire.
Interestingly, the transition between late fall and early winter often feels like an emotional and sensory journey. The visual charm of autumn leaves contrasts with the pristine white snow, while the shifting temperatures push us towards indoor comforts and nurturing routines. This is a time when many enjoy holiday meal prepping, adding nourishing soups and stews to their menus, which provide both warmth and a sense of home.
Incorporating seasonal rituals, like indulging in flavored lip balms or hot cocoa, or even dressing up to uplift the spirit, helps sustain positive vibes during the shorter days. Activities like rainy walks become meditative moments to appreciate nature's quieter beauty, while festive lights and live-orchestra movie nights fill the evenings with joy and connection.
One subtle yet meaningful place many find solace is around a glowing fire. Whether it’s a fireplace or candles, the ambiance promotes relaxation and mindfulness. Such experiences reinforce the importance of creating cozy, intentional spaces that nurture mental well-being during the colder, darker months.
Another enriching way to embrace this season is by reflecting on what small comforts brighten your days. Maybe it’s a favorite winter outfit that makes you feel confident, or a shared moment with loved ones preparing holiday decorations. Engaging with community rituals or starting gentle new habits can transform this transitional month into an emotionally rewarding experience.
Finally, it's worth noting the serene historical backdrop of places like The Old Burial Ground, where nature and history merge in quiet harmony, offering a unique setting for thoughtful walks during this reflective time of year.
By sharing and inviting conversations around these cozy routines and seasonal joys, we connect more deeply with ourselves and others, making November not just a month of change but of warmth, gratitude, and togetherness.
