As I embark on this exciting journey as a writer, I've realized the importance of community and shared experiences. Writing isn't just a solitary act; it's a way to connect with others. My creation process is greatly influenced by my desire to see diverse characters and stories in literature. Growing up, I found a lack of representation in the books I loved, especially with main characters that looked like me. That gap fueled my passion for writing stories featuring black characters in genres that resonate with young adult and new adult audiences alike. My choice to self-publish comes after thorough research and inspiration from other indie authors. Self-publishing allows me to maintain creative control over my work and share my narrative with the world in a way that feels authentic. In addition to crafting stories, I enjoy engaging with the writing community through memes and fun content on social media, where I can share my work-in-progress and foster connections. Weekly, I dedicate time to hone my writing craft, typically during the peaceful night hours, where I can immerse myself in words, create engaging content, and reflect on the stories I wish existed in my younger years. With each chapter I write, I carry my teenage self's dreams and hopes into my writing, making every word count toward something greater.
