The Silence Between Us”
By Datin Norehan
I spoke in petals, soft and frail,
But you heard only the wind’s own tale.
My laughter faded in quiet halls,
Echoing off your unseen walls.
I waited where your shadow fell,
A ghost of warmth I used to tell.
The stars still shimmered, far and cold—
They knew the stories left untold.
Neglect is not a storm or fire,
It’s slow—like frost, it steals desire.
A touch withheld, a glance denied,
A thousand words that never replied.
And yet I bloom, though roots are torn,
In fields of hurt, new strength is born.
For in the silence, I found my art—
To heal neglect with my own heart.
